July 2017 was a reasonably good month of garden insects and in particular the butterflies. A good selection of the common butterflies were recorded on several occasions each week, such Red Admiral, Speckled Wood Large White, Small White and Small Tortoiseshell. On 26th July, a Small Copper was recorded in the garden for the first time.
White-tailed and Common Carder bumblebees were also an ever present sighting in the garden.
Both adult Common Frog and tadpoles were present in the pond throughout the month. The Hedgehog also visit each night for a peanut supper.
